Scan to PDF on iPhone
You can scan to PDF on iPhone in Safari, or on Android in Chrome, with no scanner app to install and no account. Scan to PDF uses the phone camera, or a JPG or PNG you already have, and builds an image PDF in the browser. Working images are capped at 3,600 pixels on the longest side. There is no fixed page cap; memory limits a long batch. A live preview needs camera permission in Safari or Chrome.
Limits on a phone
- Open the page in Safari or Chrome and allow the camera. A browser inside Mail or another app can show a blank preview. If that happens, choose Take Photo with Camera App, which opens the phone’s own camera, or choose Upload from Photos.
- Working images are capped at 3,600 pixels on the longest side. There is no selectable DPI and no guaranteed camera resolution.
- There is no fixed page count. Available memory limits a long batch. Download the PDF before you leave the page. This scanner does not keep a cloud backup.
- The PDF is pictures of the pages. Text is not selectable. Searchable text needs PDF OCR, which sends each page image and requires a signed-in account.
- You tap the shutter yourself. Four-corner correction fits a flat sheet. It does not flatten a curved book page.
