Compress a PDF on iPhone

You can compress a PDF on iPhone in Safari, or on Android in Chrome, with no app to install and no account. PDF Compressor accepts one file up to 150 MB and rebuilds each page as a JPEG in the browser. A phone can still run out of memory on a long or image-heavy file under that cap. Medium uses 200 DPI and 0.82 JPEG quality. Selectable text, links, and form fields are removed.

Limits on a phone

  • The file cap is 150 MB. Phone memory is the tighter limit: rendering every page can fail before the file reaches that size.
  • One PDF at a time. There is no batch compress on a phone.
  • Medium is 200 DPI and 0.82 JPEG quality. Low is 300 DPI and 0.92. High is 150 DPI and 0.70. Maximum is 96 DPI and 0.50. No preset guarantees a target size such as 1 MB.
  • The new file is a picture of each page. Selectable text, links, and form fields are removed.
  • The original file stays where you picked it. Closing the tab discards the in-memory copy. There is no EditPDF AI app and no cloud copy of the file.

Open the tool
