Yes. Answers can include page cards with exact supporting quotes. Each returned quote is checked against the extracted text from that page before the citation is displayed.
Is my entire PDF uploaded to the AI?
No. The PDF file is parsed locally. Only selected relevant page text, your question, and a limited amount of recent chat history are sent to the AI service for an answer.
Can I chat with a scanned PDF?
A scan usually contains page images rather than searchable text. Run PDF OCR first to create searchable text, then open the OCR result in Chat with PDF.
Can I use a password-protected PDF?
