Does PDF comparison find text changes?
Yes. The tool separately compares normalized page text, so it can report a text change even when that content is invisible or the visible pixel difference is very small.
What do red areas in the difference map mean?
Red pixels exceed the selected color-difference threshold. Unchanged content is shown in pale grayscale so the changed areas are easier to locate.
Which sensitivity should I choose?
Use Balanced for typical document revisions. Strict is useful for subtle design changes but may flag anti-aliasing differences. Relaxed is better for PDFs that were recompressed or generated by different software.
Does the tool compare metadata or digital signatures?
It detects byte-for-byte identical files, but the normal comparison focuses on visible pages, extracted text, dimensions, and page count. It does not provide a metadata audit or validate cryptographic signatures.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
